When a German travel vlogger visited India, he was taken aback by how effective the country’s metro system was, saying it was superior to that of Western Europe.
Alex Welder added the text overlay, “POV: India’s metro is better than Western Europe’s,” to a film that chronicled his metro travels.
In the post’s description, Welder praised India’s metro system, asking, “Did you expect metros like these in India? Prior to coming here, outdated buses, railroads, and cacophonous rickshaws and tuk-tuks were the common misconceptions about public transportation. However, I was unaware that some cities, such as Delhi and Agra, have excellent metro systems.
Welder specifically highlighted the Delhi Metro’s features, such as platform screen doors on some lines, phone charging ports, and dedicated seating for ladies and the elderly.
“I honestly did not anticipate finding all of these in India, although I have seen them in China, Japan, and South Korea. As long as I avoided riding the metro during rush hour and avoided the city center and popular tourist destinations, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had a place to sit 80–90% of the time while I was in South Delhi. Additionally, there are plenty of dining and shopping alternatives at every metro station,” he added.
