Chef Robotics, a provider of AI-powered robotic meal assembly systems, has raised USD 43.1 million in Series A funding.
Avataar Ventures is leading the round with USD 20.6 million in equity, while additional investors include Bloomberg Beta, Promus Ventures, Construct Capital, and others. Furthermore, a loan of USD 22.5 million was raised for equipment financing, which enabled Chef to grow its Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) business model without requiring upfront payments from clients.
The money will be used to expand production deployments and improve Chef’s automation capabilities powered by AI. The company’s data-driven AI engine, which improves its robotic systems through actual meal assembly, is credited with its quick growth.
Chef Robotics is still maximizing efficiency in the food business, producing over 44 million servings at companies like Amy’s Kitchen and Sunbasket.
“Robotics is a huge trend at the moment. The possibilities of Embodied AI for robotics have been made possible by advancements in AI. Rajat Bhageria, the founder and CEO of Chef Robotics, stated, “With all the real-world production training data we already have, we think we are in the pole position to scale.”
Chef Robotics, which Bhageria founded in 2019, specializes in AI-powered robotic solutions for meal assembly. The company’s products assist food manufacturers in precisely automating production, which increases productivity and uniformity while decreasing the need for manual labor. Through the analysis of data from every meal that is created, its AI models are constantly getting better.
Including USD 26.75 million in equipment financing from Silicon Valley Bank, Chef Robotics has raised a total of USD 65.6 million with their most recent fundraising round. In the future, the firm wants to strengthen its position as a leader in automated meal assembly solutions, grow deployments even more, and broaden its AI-driven robotics platform.
